About

Hi, I’m Ketzel. I help people and their dogs live great lives together.

I grew up surrounded by dogs and horses and developed a niche riding horses that required extra time and patience to succeed. I also trained my own childhood dog to be an AKC canine good citizen. When I adopted Louis, my behaviorally complex cattle dog terrier mix as an adult, my passion for animals and training came flooding back, but his behavior challenges were severe enough that I struggled to find a trainer who was able to help me.

I worked with a variety of trainers to find the training methods that work best for both me and Louis, and through that journey I met my mentor, Daphne Mendoza, who I apprenticed under. Under Daphne’s supervision, I got to work with a variety of behaviorally complicated dogs suffering with problems like reactivity, fear-based aggression, stranger danger, and separation anxiety. I have also recently completed the open minded approach apprenticeship with Tulsa Pack Athletes to further my education.

Outside working with my clients, I also volunteer my time with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society and Dog’s Anonymous, a nonprofit committed to helping solve the shelter crisis and supporting dog owners who are struggling.
